This is because of the number of young and up-coming players that the team has picked up to pump energy into San Francisco Giant’s baseball. These players include Matt Cain, Tim Lincecum, Aaron Rowand, with the latter’s entry being slightly controversial. This is not to say that the veterans are not prized, or not expected to perform, because they are expected to lend experience to the newer players. Jason Ellison, Todd Linden, and Lance Niekro have a great many expectations attached to them as well.
